Kwambu Primary School, Lumakanda
My parents are sugar cane farmers and I have 5 siblings, and I help take care of the younger ones. At school, my favorite subject is English. Besides school and my chores, I like to calculate math and do practical experiments for science. I also am a poet and write about anything that is currently happening and tell stories to my classmates. When I grow up, I want to be a surgeon to help save lives. The LifeStraw Community really changed our lives at school. We used to carry water in bottles from home. And my schoolmates and siblings were undergoing sickness; they didn’t drink water after sports and became very thirsty after exercise. If someone fell sick, they didn’t have enough water to take their medicine. Now, we can take the water from the nearby stream and filter it with LifeStraw and know that it is safe.
