Better than I knew
When I replaced the carbon filter in my pitcher, I realized my office mates had been using it b/c they were impatient for its water!

i have the home glass pitcher and like the beauty of its design. how often do i change the filters? 264 gallons for the the carbon filter? what about the microfilter? how does one know. keep a diary or ??
The carbon capsule should be changed every two months. The microfilter lasts for a year and will clog when you need to change it.

Need to know how to remove the filter from the cup?
If you have the pitcher, the bottom cap pulls off. You just twist a little and pull down. It can be a little difficult if you don’t get a good grip on it. Then under the cap take off is where the charcoal filter is located.

How many gallons does this filter before it needs replacment? And no, the previous "answer" to this was certainly no answer.
According to Lifestraw - “ The membrane microfilter lasts 264 gallons (1 year). The activated carbon + ion exchange filter lasts 40 gallons (2 months).” The membrane filter is the larger part at the top, while the carbon filter is the smaller one at the bottom of the filter.

Any suggestions on tracking how many gallons one uses to help determine if you're changing the filters on an adequate schedule?
there are 16 cups (8 oz) in a gallon. So if you have a 7 cup or 10 cup pitcher, how many times do you fill it up? I have a 7 cup pitcher and refill it once every day. Simply do the math!

How to properly do the regular backflush this micro membrane filter for the Lifestraw Home Pitcher? We LOVE our glass pitcher! Very happy to see the silicone bands! Nice! Thanks.
This product's filter cannot be backflushed. Our cleaning directions can be found below.

Confused about replacement parts for Lifestraw Home. Activated charcoal piece seems to be available separately on Amazon, yet the other housing inside that is 4" tall is separated. Need to replace that as well?
go to lifestraw website - you can get replacement parts
