Filters water as you drink

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product but needs more information... I have been using this bottle for a couple of weeks now, and have just been putting water from my tap vs. the filtered water from the refrigerator. The water tastes even better than what I was getting from the filtered. It is a smart design, and enjoy the blue color bottle I received. My only concern is when researching the product on the companies website, I was unable to find out how many gallons the filter is projected to filter or how long it might last. Without this information, I would be worried about using the bottle on an extended hike. Also, the filter replacements are expensive, in my opinion, at $14.95. Otherwise, I would recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product - but the nozzle leaks I love the LifeStraw Go water bottle because it probably saved my life a thousand times. I took it with me to India and drank the water from anywhere with no problem at all. This also saved countless plastic water bottles. My only complaint is that the nozzle leaks when the bottle is tipped on it's side. During travel, keeping the bottle upright is not always an option. And when I traveled on dusty roads, I wanted to put the bottle inside my backpack to keep the nozzle clean, but then it leaked on the contents of my backpack. If they would change the nozzle, I'd give it 5 stars

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great filtering water bottle Great water bottle for hiking or any outdoor activity. It’s light weight and has an attached carabiner that allows for hands-free hiking. It also worked great to clip on my boat without worrying about it blowing out the sides. I especially like the filter for using water from the faucet that, while drinkable, is not of the best quality. You do have to use some force when sucking through the straw because it has to go through the filter. I don’t have a problem, but my 4-year-old gets frustrated when he tries to use the straw. This bottle doesn’t leak- even if held upside down, even with the straw unclamped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient, sleek and solid built I love this bottle!! It's like any other good quality sports bottle but with additional benefits. It is built very well, solid and the plastic housing does not bend under pressure. The straw collapses into the lid's housing protecting it from debris and other items that can get onto the tip. I love using this on backpacking trips and/or when I travel abroad. I don't have to lug around as much water since I can feel confident I can use the water from lakes, streams, tap water (in foreign countries) without getting sick. All in all a great product, good design and great mission.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The search is over! Bought this 5 months ago and it’s life changing! I live on a ship and my only source of water is from the tap which god knows how long they last change those pipes or most likely never did for 44 years, so I have to bring gallons of water so I could drink and I don’t have enough space to store my water since our locker is very small and if I ran out of water I’ll be having diarrhea for days and that’s not good specially out to sea. Finding this water bottle with filter has changed my life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for camping , hiking, and daily use! I have been using my Lifestraw bottle daily for a couple months now. I drink a lot of water due to chronic dehydration, so, it is important for me to have water available at all times. One thing that really frustrates me is when I run out of water and there is no clean water available . I have a condition called multiple chemical sensitivity, so, tap water can have things in it that will make me sick. Even purified water can. So, having this filter is an awesome feature. I keep the filter in my purse just in case. It has come in handy a lot. Also, the bottle is BPA free, which is great for people with MCS . It is lightweight, yet durable, and has a clip that I attach to my purse. I am very happy with the performance of this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drink Clean! Our blue Go Water Filter Bottle arrived and all the family members were fighting over it. My husband wants it for hiking, one daughter wants one for college. I want it for traveling, the airports allow you to bring an empty water bottle but who wants to drink airport tap water?? This thing filters the water right in the bottle and you feel much better knowing all the stuff is not going into your body. I think I need to get more for Christmas gifts!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Efficient but not sturdy enough for hiking I loved the efficiency with this water bottle. When taking it on hikes, I was able to drink straight away instead of waiting for water treatment tablets to kick in! On my recent 3 night hike however, I didn't have a drink bottle holder on my back pack and has to clip my life straw bottle on the outside of the pack via the caribeena. I was dissappointed when the grey plastic part around the top of the bottle snapped off on the second day. I then had nowhere to put my bottle and had to carry it by hand which was not ideal at all. If the sturdiness of the plastic could be fixed, I would try using this bottle again.

Hi there. Guys I am still confused even after reading pdf manual, description and your answers below as well. So is it 1000 gallons or liters per micro-filter? Conserning filtration feature of your product - quite important, huh?

Asked by: Andy
The best part about these filters is they will clog by the time you get to the poison. Which occurs at about 1000 liters, was my impression. I have used the LifeStraw Go in some terrible conditions with parasite infested Nile river water. They are great. By the time you get to 1000 liters you will lose track and your $40 will be well worth it.

Hi, so it is possible to use the Lifestraw Go without the carbon cartridge [Stage 2 filter]? By using it this way, is the Stage 1 Filter is still providing full filtration and safe drinking water? And what type of leakage? Thanks!

Asked by: CA67
If you decide to use our GO 2 stage bottle without the carbon, please be advised that you will lose the two-stage filtration and it may leak. But the one stage filtration will still work to remove microplastics, bacteria, and parasites.

How long does one filter last? When do I change it if I were to use the bottle daily ? Brita filters are change every two months and I do this religiously . I would do the same with this one but indeed to know the price of each filter , how long it lasts

The microfilter lasts for 1000 liters of water and will become clogged when it is time to replace it. The capsule lasts for 100 liters. The items and prices can be found at the link below.

Are there any steps to prepare this for the first use? Does the filter ever require flushing?

Asked by: Kcjo
Yes. I found a YouTube video that shows how to prepare it for first use. Inability to sip water through LifeStraw Go indicates that the product should be replaced. Rinse the bottle and top cap with safe water before first use. Upon first use or anytime the filter is dry, fill bottle with water, screw lid on, and allow to sit for a few minutes to prime the filter. Then take 5 quick sips to get the water flowing.
