"Great service!!!"
Works well and quickly
"We have had several water filters over the years, this one is hands-down the best. Holds over 5 gallons, filters in a couple hours. Most others hold 2 gallons max and take all night to filter through. This one turns swampy water into clean, odorless water. Worth every penny!"
Perfect
"Great. For any sdventure"
I hope the additional filter
"I hope the additional filter will give them several years of clean drinking water."
"Bought for extra lifetime protection."
Hopefully it works as advertised.
"Hopefully it works as advertised. We bought the filter for a " just in case" filter. We hope to never need it."
Only held as emergency
"Looks to be quality - Emergency plan only"
Product Review
"Order processing and shipment very good, technical support not so much. Since I was replacing parts I had to wait for a reply. If I was a new customer I would have moved on. The coupon I received for my trouble was not honored because the item I purchased was on sale."
Q&A
- Is this the replacement filter for the Lifestraw Mission? If not, where can I find that one?
- Hi, We are currently out of inventory of our LifeStraw Mission filter. We hope to return to stock soon.
- This filter doesn’t look like the one we are trying to replace. We ordered 2 and they are not the right filter so we need to return those for refund. Can you call to help. 830-285-0716
- Hi, The filter you need is the Community Replacement filter. We have sent you a separate email with the link. Thank you!
- Does the Life straw community come with a filter
- LifeStraw Community AutoFill is a high-capacity, gravity-fed water filtration system designed for use in areas where safe drinking water is scarce, particularly in communities, schools, and other larger group settings. It comes with a filter installed that has a Lifetime of 26,000 gallons, enough for 100 people for 3-5 years.
- What is the shelf life of these filters?
- The filter for the LifeStraw Community does not have an expiration date or shelf life. If it is unused and/or still in packaging, you will store the filter as-is, in a cool, dry place. When you are ready to use them, you would follow the steps in the manual for priming and set up. Once used, you will want to follow the long-term storage directions to ensure it is ready for your next use. The manual for the Community can be found here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2631/0778/files/LifeStraw_Community_User_manual.pdf?12520

- If this product removes viruses and bacteria what is the source of your disinfectant. What are the tthm and haa5 results. Also what is the active filtration ingredient?
- Thank you for this question. The ultrafilter for the Community and our other purifiers do not use a disinfectant. The membrane on the filter acts as a physical block to pathogens. The pores on the filter are 0.02 micron in size and this is small enough to block viruses, bacteria, parasites and other contaminants. One does not need to use chemical disinfectants in this sort of system. Therefore, we do not have tthm or haa5 results since they are related to the chemicals used in disinfecting water. Any results related to these after filtration are likely due to influent water rather than the resulting filtered output.
- Does this filter do anything with pesticides and fertilizer in the water?
- Thank you for the question. The Community Purifier is focused on the removal of microbiological pathogens and does not remove chemicals or heavy metals. It would not reduce pesticides nor fertilizers in water. For this type of filtration, you would be better served by the LifeStraw Max or with one our Home products which have an activated carbon filtration stage.
- How quickly will the fresh water tank fill through the filter?
- Each tank holds 25 liters of water or about 6.5 gallons. It will take 45 minutes - 1 hour to filter this volume of water. Initial times will be longer but will increase with use as the ultrafilter fully hydrates. Filtration rates can vary based on the condition of the water. We'd recommend using the clearest water possible to avoid clogs and keep filtration speeds quicker.
- Can I hook this up under-sink and connect the outlet to a separate filtered water faucet? Basically, can I use it like an installed-under sink filter system?
- The Community purifier and it's replacement filter is not designed for connecting to your home plumbing. If you are looking for a solution that can function with pressurized water, we recommend you take a look at the Max. It is not designed to hook up as an under-the-sink system, necessarily, but it is designed to work with pressurized water sources.
- I would like to buy the Life Straw but won't purchase without an extra filter...when back in stock.
- Hello Bobby! We do not have an update for the availability yet but you can add your email address to the stock alerts for notifications.
